There are moments in ministry that mark new beginnings, and this past week was certainly one of them at CLM Burundi. We were honored and deeply encouraged to welcome Pastor Rinus and Pastor Nathan from SolidGround Church – South Africa on their very first visit to us here in Burundi.
What began as a conversation between our Lead Pastor and the SolidGround team about possible ways of working together as mission field churches has now taken its first beautiful step forward in person, on our soil, among our people.
On Sunday, our hearts were stirred and our faith strengthened as Pastor Rinus brought a powerful message titled “We Are the People of God”, drawing from 1 Peter 2:1-10. With passion and humility, he reminded us of our identity as a chosen people, a royal priesthood, and a holy nation. The message resonated deeply with many in the congregation, reaffirming the truth that we belong to God, called out of darkness into His marvelous light.
Before their return to South Africa, we were grateful to host one final moment together. On Tuesday, the CLM staff team gathered for a brief but impactful session led by our guests, a time of encouragement and uplifting that felt like a spiritual boost for the journey ahead.
We’re truly thankful for this visit and the warmth, wisdom, and connection it brought. As we said our goodbyes, we did so with hearts full of anticipation. This is only the beginning.We look forward with great hope to what God has in store for us as we continue building relationships across borders for the glory of His Kingdom.
